About the founder – James Turner

I would like to share with you about the vision and burden that God has laid on our hearts for inner city ministry that began in Cincinnati, Ohio, over 13 years ago. Our hearts have always leaned towards the hurting, the broken, and the helpless. I can say without hesitation that our hearts beat for the people on the streets, in the hood, under the bridges, and living in the projects. It has been our privilege to be on the streets of Cincinnati Ohio and Covington, Kentucky, feeding, clothing, preaching, and building relationships with the hurting, the hopeless, and the hungry!

We are seeing God birth a multi-faceted, kingdom outreach, involving hundreds of volunteers from numerous churches and ministering to anywhere from 500 to 1,000 people on a weekly basis. We have birthed numerous outreaches that reach out to the homeless, the drug addicts, and to the prostitutes. We have have planted ministries in Cincinnati Ohio, Northern Kentucky, Detroit, and now in Phoenix Arizona.  It has truly been exciting to see the intense passion that has developed in the hearts of these volunteers. God is building an awesome team to make an eternal impact in the heart of inner cities.

I am a licensed minister with the Assemblies of God.  We have been privileged to be a part of the ministry for over twenty years. Since my initial conversion I have served in Sunday school ministry, van ministry, youth ministry, children’s ministry, deacon ministry, nursing home ministry, jail ministry, prison ministry, truck stop ministry, senior pastor, evangelist, outreach director, and many other exciting ministries.

Lord send me to the darkest, most impoverished, and drug infested places on earth. Lord, help me plant churches 6 inches from the gates of hell!

I have personally known Jim Turner for almost 20 years. I have found him to be visionary in his leadership, and extremely well versed in his ability to offer spiritual leadership to the Church. He has a compassion for the lost that excels the body of Christ. He has preached on a number of occasions with tremendous results. Jim is an exceptional communicator and very relationally friendly. He has my highest. respect, and endorsement.

Pastor Greg Temke (River of Life Church)

Jim is a true evangelist that gathers those that have hurts, habits and hang ups with the compassion of Christ. Jim works extensively with the local churches and Christ-centered organizations to win the lost and see the power of God manifest through believers. He is passionate and unselfish always desiring for God to be glorified!

Pastor Eric White (Bread Of Life Church)

I am honored to have had a small part in what I consider a ministry on the front lines of the great call of our Father God to win the lost! This ministry is truly the heart of God expressed to a hurting world!

Pastor Debbie Horn (New Life A/G Maysville Kentucky)

Jim and Letha are the real deal. They genuinely and wholeheartedly “serve The Lord with gladness,” as the Bible instructs us to do. I’ve watched Pastor Jim joyfully and purposefully encourage, hug, love, preach the word, and lift folks homeless and/or previously feeling helpless in our inner city. Moreover, he has a gift of teaching everyone not to be “takers,” but rather, the responsibility that lies within us all to give back. As a result, people are giving themselves to The Lord, and (the best part), collaborating to help others. I know this to be true: countless people have shared their life-changing stories with me. And it’s hard to explain, but there’s a light in their eyes. The same light I saw in Jim and Letha the day we first met.

Kathy Jo Parsanko (Co-Servant in Christ)

I have watched Pastor Jim relentlessly serve the poor and help the homeless. I am grateful to know him

LaMorris Crawford (Bengals Chaplain)

Jim Turner was one of my first introductions to a man of a God after I was saved. In many ways this has opened my heart to an understanding of the Gospel that I had seldom seen elsewhere. I saw brokenness mended, the gospel advanced and hunger satisfied. I saw the hands and feet of Jesus and it changed me. I see a passion for the lost and broken in Jim Turner that made me want to make a difference. I think one of Jim’s most powerful assets is his humility and brokenness which has allowed him to work with all kinds of ministers and create unity in the body of Christ. He has and continues to inspire me as we walk together and glorify Jesus. I trust him.

Mark Campbell (Co- Servant in Christ)

I want to testify how much passion and love Pastor James Turner has for the urban ministry!! In Cincinnati and in KY but also the vision of planting ministries In other cities across America in the most poverty stricken and drug infested areas!! I also love the fact that he is taken men and women off the street and making disciples by the power and healing of Jesus and now they are going out and giving people hope by the power of their testimonies!! I am very excited to see what God has in store for this ministry!! God bless !

Craig Schmidt (Co-servant in Christ)

I have known Pastor Jim Turner and worked with him for several years. I don’t know anybody else with more passion for ministering to the poor and homeless s. It is a true honor to serve with a man of his caliber and commitment as we seek to glorify Jesus and further his kingdom!

Pastor Vince Marquis (Love City Church)

Pastor Jim Turner has such a heart for urban ministry. His tireless evangelism efforts in different cities truly display the heart of God, for people to be reconciled back to Him. His love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, his love for God, and especially his love for people, will continue to encourage the hearts of those (especially in the 4 walls of the church) to DO SOMETHING in relation to Kingdom building

Jerry Reiner (President Project 5.2)

Jim is on fire for helping people who have been held capitive by their circumstances, who have been rejected by others, or who society may say they will never change. He ascribes worth to people by viewing them as Gods beloved ones. He pursues people on the street like like a fireman running into the burning building….

John Eldridge (President Masters provision)

Jim and Lisa Turner have been a blessing to me and my family. Watching them love and serve the homeless in the city this year has ignited a fire that is contagious. They’re hearts are in the right place and they are making an impact on thousands of people. They are fighting to save the lost and the broken. What’s most important is that all of their work points back to God and brings him glory. I’m forever grateful that God crossed our paths. Greater things have yet to come and greater things are still to be done in the city.

Clif Marshal Strength (Coach at Ignition)

Jim and Letha Turner remind me of modern day “John the Baptist” how they go into the inner cities to seek the lost, the homeless, the hurting, the broken, to raise up men and women out of ashes, for repentance and baptism into the Holy Spirit for God’s Glory… Love ya Brother Jim and Sister Letha in Jesus Christ… All for His Glory…
In Jesus Christ, Our Savior,
Blessings,

Kent Klee (Co- Servant in Christ)

Having worked with James in Detroit it was obvious his passion to create a church without walls. He has a heart to take the anointing out of the church building and into the streets, compelling the broken to come to the One who can heal them.

Josh Smith (Co- Servant in Christ)

In my 20+ years of ministry, I believe Jim Turner has one of the purist hearts for urban evangelism I’ve ever seen. He works tirelessly, and loves completely. Most of all, He saturates himself in the Word of God for the purposes of becoming Christ to a dying world. He is a rare gem indeed.

Apostle Peter Griffin (Restoration Ministries)

I am just so excited to be able to serve with Jim and his wife and fellowship with them. Jim has such a huge heart for ministry and reaching the lost that it is inspiring and contagious. I look forward to many missions and opportunities to serve with Jim and to serve Jim. He is truly a mighty man of God. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do with him next.

Mark L Weigel (Founder Break Ever Chain Ministry)

I have had the privilege of knowing Pastor James and Letha Turner for over 20 years. I can truly say I have never met a more dedicated family , who gives their all to serve the Lord and to give of themselves in the ministry. They have gone to the streets where no one else was willing to go and bring new life to the homeless, the hurting and the helpless. I am excited to be a part of this ministry that goes beyond the 4 walls of the church and brings Jesus to the people and then disciples them to become leaders and volunteers in the ministry. They have been faithful over the small things and now God is birthing a Nationwide ministry reaching out to other urban areas beyond Cincinnati , Ohio. They are truly WORLD CHANGERS!

Cheryl Blackburn (Co-Laborer in Christ)

Until you have worked with Pastor Jim Turner, you don’t know what a real passion for hurting and broken people looks like. In all of our years of ministry, we have never encountered or had the privilege of working with someone with such energy and sincere God-like passion as Pastor Jim. Wherever you can find broken people, there you will also find Jim. Wherever you can find lost people, there you will find Jim. He is a model of the kind of Kingdom action we should all aspire to. The Go Network is proud to call Jim a partner and friend.

Joel Sweeney (President The Go Network)

I can think of no other individual that incarnates the heart of the Lord expressed in Matthew 25:35-36 than Pastor Jim Turner. I have had the privilege of co-laboring with Pastor Jim on many occasions – I have seen him feed the hungry and homeless, clothe those in need, take individuals into his family’s home when they had nowhere else to turn, and ministered alongside him in prison and to prostitutes. His heart for “the least of these” is unsurpassed, and he is truly the hands and feet of Jesus to the inner city. Jim’s compassion enables him to go into places that many others fear to tread, because his desire is not to “build better communities”, it’s to love people where they’re at. I highly recommend Jim and his ministry – it is a great honor to call him a colleague, but a bigger honor to call him a friend.

Mike Lane (Co Servant in Christ)

Pastor James and Letha Turner are the real deal. I went on a mission trip with them to Detroit and it was a powerful time from beginning to end. They take the ones the world despises and the church cannot tolerate and help them believe in the One who is able to Rescue them. Pastor James’s passion for Christ is very contagious. I was overwhelmed by the worship, fellowship, teaching and knowledge that was poured out not only to the ones He was ministering to but also the ones there to serve with them. This ministry has captured my heart by providing me with the necessary changes I need to go and be the hands and feet of Jesus! I am so grateful for Pastor James and Letha and for Bridging the Gap Ministry. I believe EVERYONE should make a way to go minister with them or partner with them in making a way for others. -FOREVER CHANGED!

Holly Mclntyre (Co- Servant in Christ)

Jim has a real heart for the homeless, the lost and those who are in bondage to addictions. He truly shows the love of Christ.
