We are passionate about reaching the lost, preaching the Gospel to the poor, rescuing women from the life of drugs and prostitution, and to plant inner city churches, all over America
Mark Weigel has been the Vice-President and Associate Pastor of Bridge the Gap Ministries for over seven years under the direct leadership of its founder James Turner. Mark’s desire has always been to work beside his brother James on the streets serving the addicted and the afflicted. Due to commitments in Kentucky, Mark was only able to act in financial and administrative capacities until recently. When James and Letha relocated to the tri-state area Mark and Sharon new it was time to form an unstoppable team that could turn Cincinnati upside down.
Mark Struggled with drug and alcohol addictions for over 40 years. Due to his poor choices and anger issues, Mark spent many years sitting in jail cells, as God kept him alive showing him Grace and Mercy. When he was delivered from his addictions in 2012, he quickly became aware of the fact that “You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free”. He grew up in a home where abuse was the norm for his mother, sibling, and himself. When Mark was 16 years old his brother Mike died of medical complications and Mark began living on the streets.
As a General contractor Mark loves to build things. His goal is to build several safe houses for women and children to help them get off the streets and began a new life with a fresh start… centering on the Life and Power of Jesus Christ.
Mark is married to his beautiful wife Sharon, who shares his passion to be “Boots on the Ground” feeding the homeless and trying to help them find solutions to their current situations. Mark’s goal is to Glorify God with his life by following the lead of his “Little Brother” James, as well as the other team members by “Bridging the Gap” wherever he is needed.
